Hurricanes Eliminated From Playoffs Coach Russ Frazier in his weekly report on the Louisburg College Hurricanes reports that the team's double loss to con ference foe, Chowan Saturday, eliminated them from the Dis trict 10 Playoffs to be played v ' here this year ior the first time. We failed to hit again Satur day and lost 1-0 and 7-1 de cisions to Chowan. The de feats eliminated us from the Eastern District Tournament here next week. Pete Eyer pitched a 2 hitter for us in the first game but? we couldn't get him any runs although we had a couple of opportunities. We got only 4 hits the first game and 1 the second. I don't know what has happened to the hitting unless the boys are pressingMoo hard. We tore both the *boys up who pitched for Chowan Saturday earlier in the season. We play Ferrum here Wednes-' day in a doubleheader beginning at 1:30. Friday we go to Duke and Saturday play Carolina a doubleheader here. People In this area will get a chance to see Carolina's Gary Hill Satur day. He has 5 shutouts so far and has given up 1 run in All-star Meet At Youngsville Youngsville? The Youngsville basketball All-Stars and the Louisburg All-Stars both men and women played in a Benefit Double- Header for the Ameri can Cancer Society at the Youngsville High School gym on Thursday night. Th^ event was planned by the local Special Events Chairman Mrs. J. T. Allen of the Youngs ville Woman's Club; with the cooperation of the Louisburg Woman's Club. The Interesting games drew a good crowd which netted $58.00 for the evening. Mrs. Kay Phillips helped with the Youngsville women's team and Larry Llndsey with the men. Local cheerleaders with enter taining yells were four boys of YHS, Johnny Mitchell, Larry Paschal, Stewart Woodard and Jesse Preddy. Louisburg cheerleaders we ^e regular sea son high school cheerleaders. Ralph Brown and E. J. Wilder refereed both games. 6 games and It was unearned. He Is ranked in the $50,000 bracket by scouts who say he Is the best In North Carolina and one of the best prospects In the country. Lamm of the Seven Paths Com munity, Is responsible for an other "first" on having pro duced a third certified boar. Lamm, who has been In the swine business for 31 years, Is believed to be the only breed er to have three "Spots" cer tified. Lamm's first certified boar, Mr. Streamer, won his honors In 1957. Lamm recalled at that time that while a student at Wake Forest College, he'd found that Greek was hard to pass. He'd since dec tded that learning Greek was easier than gettlnga hog certified, he asserted. Navy; Elbert, vocational agriculture teacher at Benvenue School; Paul, In WUUamston with a credit firm; and a daughter, Marjorle (Mrs. June) Chewnlng of Goldsboro.
