nual Congress of the AOA.
Approximately 1,800 opto
metrists and guests were in
attendance at the five-day
?vent devoted to professional
and educational topics con
cerned with the advancement
and Improvement of the vision
care of the public through
optometrlc procedures.

Electric Co-op Employee Retires
Foster Barham retired June
30, after 22 years of service
with Wake Electric Member
ship Corporation. Mr. Barham
has been Service Supervisor
for Wake Electric for the
past five years. He has an
outstanding work record,
having driven over 1/2 million
miles without an accident, has
never had a lost time accident,
and has averaged only 2 3/4
days sick leave a year, during
the 22 year period, yet he
has worked many hours in all
kinds of adverse weather.
Mr. and Mrs. Barham, and
their, daughter, Mrs. Charles
garter, were guests of Wake
Electrlc's employees at a re
cent appreciation dinner.
J. L. Shearon, Wake's Mana
ger, expressed appreciation
to Mr. Barham for his un
selfish, faithful and dedicated
service to the Cooperative,
especially for the many fri
ends he has made for himself
and the business. He then
presented Mr. Barham a gold
watch as tangible evidence
of this appreciation.

cluding the Woman's Auxi
liary to the AOA.
