Vacation Bible School Closes Youngsville-The Youngs ville Vacation Bible School closed with a commencement program held on Friday night June 21 with, members of each department participat ing. Handwork was on display in classrooms where parents and friends were invited after the program. The school began with Pre paration Day on the previous Saturday with a parade led by the town Fire Truck and Police Car. Students and some of the faculty rode on decorated bicycles in the parade. Youngest children were in a tractor-drawn trail er, followed by several cars. The American and Christian flags waved from the trailer. Total enrollment of the week was sixty-five and aver age attendance was sixty. There1 were seventeen faculty members including Mrs. W. M. DeMent and Miss Debbie Brown in the Nursery; Mrs. J. R. Sanders, Mrs. Hazel Haley and Miss Janice Pearce in the Beginner Department; Mrs. L. J. Phillips and Mrs. W. M. Cooper in the Primary dept.; Mrs. A. N. Corpening, Mrs. N. A. Brown and Mrs. H. N. STORE Students Leave For European Tour Eleven Franklin County students departed from Ra leigh-Durham airport on Sa turday, en route to Europe for a 32 day tour which will include five countries. The tour is under sponsorship of the International Cultural Ex change Schools. About 2000 students from the United States will be involved in similar tours during the sum mer months. Mrs. Robert J. Murphy is chaperone and co-ordinator for a group of twenty-four students, including those from Franklin County. The remainder of this group is from the Henderson area. Mrs. Murphy stated that their Intinerary will Include the countries of England, France, Germany, Austria and Italy and carries three hours of collece credit. At the conclusion of the tour they will depart from Rome by plane for the return trip on Julv 23rd. The local student* partici pating are: Jimmy Chesson, son of Mrs. C. A.
