Franklinton Methodist (FRK. B.W.) The members of The United Methodist Youth Fellowship of the Franklinton Methodist Church will present a special Christmas service at the morning worship service Sun day, December 2. The pub lic is invited to attend this service at 11 o'clock. At 7:30 o'clock in the evening at Christmas Candle lighting Service (No More Darkness) will be held at the churches. Rev. ' Christmas Tree Bears Mission Gifts YoungsviUe - A ten-foot Christmas tree In the sanc tuary of the Youngsville Bap tist Church was decorated Sunday morning with red and green stockings bearing gifts of money for the annual Lottie Moon Christmas Of fering for Foreign Missions. A portion of the morning wor ship service was set aside for the ceremony with Rev. L. Jervais Phillips noting the need for this offering which is given at Christmas through out the Southern Baptist Convention. The local promotion was sponsored by the Woman's Missionary Society under the leadership of Stewardship Chairman Mrs. J. E. Hart with the assistance of WMS Presi dent Mrs. T. E. Lindsey and other members who cooperat ed in making the decorative stockings which were distri buted prior to Sunday to every church *nd Sunday School member. At the evening worshtnv service * Christmas program was presented by the young people. Mrs. Bland Writes Message For "The Upper Room" Mrs. Ren* Cheek Bland of Wake Forest, North Carolina is the author of a meditation accepted for publication by The Upper Room, worldwide interdenominational devo tional guide, according to ak announcement by Dr. Wilsafa 0. Weldon, editor of Tne Upper Room in Nashville, Tennessee. The daily devotion guide with a circulation of three and one quarter million is printed in 38 languages with 45 editions. It is distributed in more than one hundred countries over the world, and its readership is estimated in excess of ten million persons per issue. "Each day's reading," said Dr. Weldon, "includes a Bible reference, i Bible text, a med itation, a prayer and a Thought for the Day. Mrs. Walter McDonald and Mrs. Russell Frazier will be soloist for the group with the pastor, Rev. Hoyt Lock, as Narrator.
