C. The new Marine is the son of Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Weathersby of Rt. 1, Louisburg, N. C. Private Weathersby enlist ed for two years under the 120 day delayed enlistment program, which allows a young man to select, months in advance, the date he will leave for active Marine Corps duty. The new Marine can make plans and get his affairs in order be cause he is certain of his active duty date Since he is already a Marine during the delay period the time counts toward his total service obli gation, his first pay raise and his fust promotion. School Board Sets Lunch Program The Franklin County Board of Education announc ed today that the Franklin County School System had been declared eligible to part icipate in a new rree and reduced price school lunch program. Policies for its ini tiation and administration have been approved by the North Carolina State Office of School Food Services. Eligibility for children to participate is determined by total family Income and num ber of children in school. Application forms have been sent to all families. Those interested in participating have completed the forms and returned them to the home room teachers. This part of the school lunch pro gram is funded by the Federal Government through the United States Department of Agriculture and sponsored by the County Board of Educa tion.
