Cubs Hold Annual Banquet
The Louisburg Cub Scouts
held its annual Blue-Gold
Banquet Thursday evening in
the Benjamin N. Duke Cafe
teria. The purpose of the pro
gram was to present* advance
ment awards but also to give
special recognition to two
cub scouts. Keith Shearon
and Edward Washburn, who
were inducted into the Boy
Scouts.
There were numerous ad
vancements. The Wolf badge
was presented to Paul Flem
ing. Randy Godfrey. David
Kemp. Kim Kimball, and Vin-.
cent Wood. Wolf gold arrow
points went to Chip Davis.
David Kemp. Art Stanley,
Mark Stanley. Don Shuping.
and Vincent Wood. To Gil
Holton and Vincent Wood
went four Wolf silver arrow
points. Chris Caveness re
ceived two and Vincent Wood
pne. In addition. Bob Frisbie
was presented the Bear silver

to begin work on their model
cars for the Pinewood Derby
on April 15.

with the United States on
limited nuclear missile sys
tems. and to cooperate in
easing current threats to
world peace. The proposal
was reportedly message to the
new president.
Electoral College
Congressional leaders of
both parties have agreed on
the need for urgent action to
change the Electoral College
system. The parties remain
divided over how this should
be done, and whether it can
be accomplished before the
1972 presidential election.
