Rice, Perry Wed At Pine Ridge Church Miss June Faye Perry and Mr. Steve Glenn Rice were united in marriage Sunday afternoon, June 22, in Pine Ridge Baptist Church. Rev erend Ellis G. Fulbright pre sided at the double-ring cere mony. v The bride is the daughter .of Mr. and Mrs. Claude S. Perry of Route 1, Spring Hope, N. C. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Tilman Bryant Rice of Route 1, Youngsville, N. C. Pre-nuptial music was pro vided by Mrs. Ellis Fulbright, soloist, of Pine Ridge, accom panied by Mrs. Crama Ray of Pilot, at the organ. Mrs. Ful bright sang "Whither Thou Goest" and "The Wedding Prayer." Given in marriage by. her father, the bride wore a for mal gown of white satin with empire waist accented by self-fabric bias trim lowered around the neckline, with long bell sleeves accented by reembroidered scalped lace set into the sleeve TTclow the elbow. The flowing train was of matching lace to that on the dress sleeve, it was attach ed around the neckline. Her veil of silk illusion was attach ed to a crown of petals, with chrystal sequins and pearls. She carried two baby orchids with feathered carnations stephanotis with ribbon and lace streamers. Mrs. Russell Bunn, sister of the bride, was the matron of honor. Mrs. Renelle Pearce, sister of the bride, and Mrs. Bobby Kay, cousin of the bride, were brides maids. Each attendant wore a floo? length kelly green satin dress. Emphasis on the sleeve less dresses were square necks with side panels and accented by bias trim cris-crossing in back to give an empire effect. They each wore matching satin shoes. Their headpieces were ?of three layered satin bow covered by a green net veil of illusion. The maid of honor carried five yellow long stemmed roses; each brides maid carried three yellow long stemmed roses with rib bon and lace streamers. Mrs. Wilbur Pearce, sister of the groom, was at the church register. She wore a light blue linen dress with an A-line style and her corsage was two white cymbidiums. Mr. Tilman Bryant Rice, MRS STEVE GLENN RICE father of the groom was best man. Ushers were Mr. Wilbur ' Gray Pearce, brother-in-law of the groom, Mr. David Rus sell Bunn, brother-in-law of the bride. The bride's mother was attired in a deep pink crepe dress with short bell sleeves with white lace trim. The groom's mother wore a light blue linen dress with match ing lace down center front and across the bodice with matching shoes. Their cor sages were two white cymbi diumc. Mrs. Carrie Parker and Mrs. Raymond Perry, grand mothers of the bride, wore two white carnation corsages with their attire. The bride is a graduate of Bunn High School and Ra leigh School of Data Process ing. and now is employed with the Department of | Motor Vehicles. | The grciom is a graduate of Youngsville High School and W. W. Holding Technical In stitute. and is now employed with the Stackpole Com ponent Company of Raleigh. After a wedding trip to the eastern part of the state, Mr. and Mrs. Rice will Reside at Route 1, Youngsville, North Carolina. Mrs. Bufer Abrams of Pilot was director of the wedding. Mrs. Steve Rice, the bride, made and designed her dress and her attendant's gowns and veils. Cake Cutting On June 21st at 8:00 p.m. after the wedding rehearsal. Miss June Faye Perry and Mr. Steve Glenn Rice were honor ed by a cake cutting. Mrs. Tillman Rice, and Mrs. Claude Perry were hostesses. The party was held at the Pine Ridge Fellowship Hall. Yellow and green floral ar rangements were used. The table was covered with a white linen tablecloth, center ed with a floral arrangement of yellow and white flowers flanked by burning white tap ers. The three-tiered cake was decorated with yellow flow ers and green leaves with a miniature bride and groom on top. This was served by Mrs. Tiiman Rice, mother of the groom. Mrs. Claude S. Perry served mint green punch. After the bride and groom cut the first slice of wedding cake, the guests and members of the wedding were served nuts, mints and pickles. Ap proximately 35 guests attend ed. Showers On May 31st, Miss June Faye Perry was honored by a miscellaneous shower at the Pine Ridge Fellowship Hall. She was presented a white corsage upon arriving. Hostesses were Mrs. Bobby Ray, Mrs. Renelle Pearce and Mrs. Russell Bunn. Mrs. Nellie Kinton, Mrs. Jewel Gilliam and Mrs. Caro lyn Pearce were hostesses to a miscellaneous shower honor ing Miss Perry at the Harris Chapel Fellowship Hall on June 7. Marriage Announced Mr. Garland E. Mustian announces the marriage of his sister, Mrs. - Lillian Mustian Saunders to Mr. Allen W. Shearin Friday, June 20th, 1969. The private ceremony was performed by the Rev. Aubrey S. Tomlinson at the home of the bride on Waddell Street. Mrs. Shearin is a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Mustian of Louisburg; the groom is the son of Mis. Gardner E. Shearin of Aure Uan Springs, and the late Mr. Shearin. Pearce, Wilder Wed Saturday Miss Ann Elizabeth Wilder of Raleigh and Mr. William Eugene Pearce of Franklinton pledged their wedding vows Saturday at 3 o'clock in the afternoon in the Knightdale Baptist Church. Knightdale. N.C. Reverend George W. Ptill ium. Jr. officiated at the double-ring ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Owen Wilder of 3306 Sauth all Road. Raleigh, and the groom, the son of Mr and Mrs. Eugene Curtis Pearce of Route 2, Franklinton. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown ~of silk organza and Venise lace featuring a Victorian neckline o( lace with seed pearls and long bishop ' sleeves. The cage organza gown over silk taffeta with | lace at the hemline possesses a square chapel train from a double bow back and is edged with Venise lace. She wore a matching flower petal head- . piece with a tiered veil and carried a nosegay of mixed summer flowers. Mr. John F. Cannady of Rochester, N. Y. was best man. She is employed with N. C. Department of Agricul ture -Division of Markets. The groom is a graduate of Coopers High School, Nash ville. attended Mars Hill Col lege and University of Vir ginia and is a graduate of N. C. State University with a B.S. in Chemistry. CAKE CUTTING Mrs. William Wilder and Mrs. Reuben Wilder were hostesses at a cake-cutting Friday evening at 8:30 P.M. at the home of Mn. William Wilder in Knightdale, N. C. Deaths . MISS ANNIE W. HUNT Miss Annie Waite Hunt, 86, of Rt. 3, Louisburg. died Saturday morning at Franklin Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were held Sunday at 2 P.M. from the Lancaster Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Marion Rector, pas tor of Corinth Baptist Church. Burial was in the Corinth Baptist Church ceme tery. There are no immediate ?urvivors. TOM PEARCE Tom Pearce, 73, of Zebu Ion, Rt. 2, died Sunday Services were held today at 2 P.M. from the Pilot Baptist Church by the Rev. Donald Wagnor with burial in Montlawn in Raleigh. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Lottie Pearce; two daughters, Mrs. Pearl Baker of Zebulon and- Mrs. Eutrise Ad cock of Raleigh; two step daughters, Mrs. Belltha Strickland of Spring Hope and Mrs. Emma Bass of Greensboro; a son, Bayard T. Dalhias and other summer flowers decorated the home for the occasion. Floral de signs were pictured on bridge tallies. > After the second progres sion or bridge the hostess served lemon pie and coffee. Coca-Colas and potato chip sters were served later in the evening. Patterson who won second high, Cancer Literature Distributed Mrs. Grady Snyder, who has Tor several years been the education chairman for the Franklin County Cancer So ciety. reports that education al literature on cancer has been distributed in all of the county schools through the Home Demonstration Clubs, to Louisburg College stu dents. to some business firms, and through the Franklin County Department of Public Welfare. Several educational films on cancer have been shown in the county schools, Louis burg College, and at various civic organizations. Part of the money you gave to the cancer drive bought the educational ma terial used in our own county with our own people. The chairman expresses her appre ciation to all who helped in the educational program of the cancer society for this year. Seven Paths Hev. and Mrs. James A. Wood and family are visiting Mrs. Wood's relatives in Mary land. Stanley Nelms and Alton Smith have been to White Lake with the Future Farm ers of America. Mr. M. T. Lamm vacation ed with his daughter. Mrs. Marjorie Chewning, and her family of Goldsboro, travel ing as far as Florida and enjoying the tropical beauty. ' Mesdames Bertha Moore and Elsie Gay, Jenny Gay and Marsha Manning.- Johnny and Jimmy Jessup motored to Newport News, Va. Tuesday to visit relatives. Jenny and Marsha stayed until the week end when Millard \Jay brought them home. A spe cial event of their trip was seeing the "Monkeys" at Vir ginia Beach. Mrs. Lucy celebrated a birthday Tuesday. Mrs. Eula lia lloyle and daughter. Re becca Hoyle, of Henderson were among the visitors. Mrs. Emma Moore is back at home after spending se veral weeks in Louisburg and Rocky Mount with her daughters Mrs. Patricia Roberts and son Terry of Whitakers, Messrs. H. P Fisher and Madi son Fisher of Norfolk, Va. and Enfield; Mr. and Mrs. David Fisher and daughters of Rocky Mount, visited the M. E. Fishers Saturday. Mrs. Jenny Fulghum of Aurora spent a couple of weeks with Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Moore. On Sunday Mrs. Jewel Broome and children .spent the day and took Mrs. Fulghum home. Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Moore, Mr. 'and Mrs. Wiley Tant toured the North Caro lina mountains last weekend. Then Mr. and Mrs. Tant and children visited relatives In Maryland for a few days. Sunday visitors of Mr. E. B. Moore were Mr. and Mrs. W. 0. Moore of Raleigh, Mr. and Mrs. C. D. Driver of New Hope and Mrs Joseph A. Perry. Mr. Vincent 0.
