Mt. Zion To Dedicate
New Parsonage Sunday
New Parsonage
Mount Zion Baptist
Church, Route 8. Louisburg
will dedicate its new parson
age in special services to be
held Sunday, July 27. The
dedication service will be held
in the church at 3:00 P.M.
with the pastor, kcv. Ken
neth K. Huneycutt presiding.
Scripture will t>e read by
Miss Irina Oupton, Director
and President of the Adult
WMU and Mrs. I la/el Foster,
president of the Young Adult
WMU. The invocation will be
given, by Owen Tharrington.
Henry Kdwards, chairman, of
the building committee, will
present the keys to the house
as a symbol of its completion
and the pastor will accept
them and lead the congrega
tion in the dedicatory litany.
Kev. John W. Woody, Asso
ciational Missionary of Tar
River Baptist Association,
will bring greetings from "the
association. The prayer of
dedication will be offered by
Miss Lillie Harper.
Open house will be held
from 3.30 to 5:30 P.M for
the congregation and the
public. Receiving the guests
will be Rev. and Mrs. Ken
neth K. Huneycutt, the l)ea
conate, and members of the
building committee. Members
of the YWAs will serve as
hoMtwifiDfc.and the Indies of the
church will assist in serving
refreshments.
The parsonage, completed
in June, is debt free and was
constructed by Wilbur W.
Kennedy. It is constructed of
brick and stone and has eight
roonud: kitchen, living room,
dining room, three bedrooms,
den. pastor's study, and two
bathrooms. The study was
furnished in memory of
Clarence Gupton (1907 -
1968) by friends and rela
tives. A cherry console in the
living room is a memorial gift
given by Miss Irma Gupton
and Bruce Gupton in memory
of their father. R. N. Gupton
(1882 - 1968). The draperies
in the study and den were
provided by the Young Adult
WMU. and the drapery rods
in the bedrooms were pro
vided by a friend.

A Budget Surplus?
The Government wound
up its fiscal year, June 30,
with a small surplus for the
first time in nine years. The
final figures are not available,
at this time, but officials are
confident of a small surplus.
U.S. Food Plan
The Senate Agriculture
Committee has voted to more
than double food stamp
spending next year. The com
mittee approved $750 mil
lion-compared to this year's
$390 million for food stamp
expenditures.
