Waccamaw Reaches $100,000,000 Waccamaw Bank and Trust Company's total mourns passed the $100,000,000 mark on Friday, August 8, I960. The exact amount reached as of that date was $100,922,597.43 - which is twice the bank's resources of $60,863,836 on July 30, 1946. Presently, with 29 offices in 21 communities lo cated in eight North Carolina counties, the Whiteville-baaed banking system has enjoyed an avenge growth rate of almost 25% per annum during the past 36 months. "Certainly, we have made no attempt to grow just for growth's sake, but we do fed that our reaching this land mark in our history is indica tive of the confidence that our customers have placed in us", stated L. R. Bowers, president. Mr. Bowers also indicated that he expected the bank's growth to be con tinued in a similar manner-in order to meet the needs of its customers in Eastern Caro lina. The bank was begun on Match 20, 1926 with capital of $87 ,500. L. R. Bowers, President, is very pleased as Phyllis Miller advises him that $100,000,000 in total resources was surpassed at Waccamaw Bank on August 8, 1969. N.C.
