Gilleland, Thweatt Speak Vows (FRK. B.W.) Miss Sandra Faye Thweatt became the bride of Thomas Braxton GilleUnd on Saturday at six o'clock in the FrankUnton Baptist Church. The Rever end Horace L. Jackson offi ciated at the double ring cere mony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Archie Watts Thweatt of Franklinton. Parents of the groom are Mrs. Catherine Williams and the late Thomas R. GilleUnd of Franklinton. Nuptial music was render ed by Miss Cenieth Elmore, organist, of Franklinton and Mr. Howard Wilson, soloist, of Wake Forest. Mr Wilson sang "At Dawning", and "Whither Thou Goest." The vows were spoken in front of a background of emerald palms and baskets of white chrysanthemums and white gladioli with burning white tapers in candelabras. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a for mal gown of dulcette satin and reembroidered Alencon lace. The empire bodice featured a sculptured neck line and long satin sleeves ending in points. Lace appliques adorned the ?3wn at the empire line and tiny seed pearls were encrusted in the lace appliques. The bride's gown featured a cathedral satin train with lace appliques. The bride wore a bouffant veil of imported silk illusion attached to a crown of seed pearls. She carried a cascade bouquet of miniature white carnations and stepha notis showered with white satin streamers. Miss Donna Thweatt, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. She wore a formal gown of nile green karate. The skimmer bodice featured a square neckline and short lace sleeves. A sweep train flowing from a bow adorned the gown. She carried an arm bouquet of bronze chrysan themums with matching ribbons. Bridesmaids were Mrs. William Davis of Hills borough, sister of the bride groom, and Miss Peggy Senter of Franklinton, cousin of tbe : bride They wore formal . gowns of nile green karate with a skimmer bodice, short lace sleeves and a sweep train of lace. They carried arm bouquets of yellow chrysan themums with matching ribbons. Junior bridesmaids were Miss Bonnie Senter of Frank Unton and Miss Leigh Senter of Fayettevflle, cousins of the bride. They wore formal gowns of nile green karate similar to the bridesmaids. They carried one big yellow chrysanthemum with match ing ribbon. Ringbearer was Burt Sen ter, cousin of the bride. For her daughter's wed ding, Mrs. Thweatt wore a street length dress of pale blue lace with matching accessories and a pink car nation corsage. The groom's mother wore a street length dress of blue hce with beige accessories and a pink carnation corsage. William Davis of Hills borough, brother-in-law of the groom, served as best man. Ushers were Larry Medlin of Raleigh, brother in-law of the groom, Bruce Senter of Fayetteville, uncle of the bride, David Umber lake of Youngsville and BiDy Mitchell of Franklinton. Presiding over the register in the vestibules of the church were Miss Donna Col lins and Miss Judy Eury. Immediately following the cwemony, the parents of the bride entertained at a recep tion at the Frankllnton Com munity House Mrs. Howard Wilson greet ed the gueata and introduced them to the receiving line composed of the bridal couple, their parents, and the honor attendants. Mrs. Bruce Senter, aunt of the bride, served the cake altar the bride and groom cut the first slice. Mrs. Hubert Senter. aunt of the bride, praaided over the punch bowl. The serving table was covered with a white cloth upon which waa an arrange ment of summer flowers. The Community House waa decorated in ? bridal motif. Cfcndeiabras and mag nolia leaves adorned the mantle In the front room. Two large wedding bells ex tended from the archway. Ivy decorated the stairway Following the reception, the couple left for a wedding trip to unannounced points, ' after which they will make their home In Frankllnton. The bride is a craduate at MRS THOMAS BRAXTON GILLELAND Franklinton High School. She is employed with Nationwide Insurance in Raleigh. The bridegroom is a grad uate of Franklinton High Louisburg Miss Margaret Rowland Howard, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carey Howard of Rich mond, Virginia, has returned home after visiting with her grandmothers In Louisburg, Mrs. Carey Howard, Sr. and Mrs. F. M. Fuller. Mrs. Sue Newton, Bow man, Nan Wallace and Myron Tarriff of Newport News, Vir ginia spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Newton on the way from the Newton Jones wedding at Roanoke, Virginia. ? Mrs. Elmar Holmes, Mrs. Eleanor Averette, Hartwell Newton and Sara Collier at tended the Wallace Newton Linda Jones wedding in Roanoke Virginia Saturday. Mr. Wallace Newton is a cousin of the twins and Hart well. , Franklinton Terry and Larry Ball have returned to Wilmington after visiting their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Buck Ball. School. He recently termi nated his 4 years of duty in the U. S. Marine Corps. He is employed with Durham Hosiery, Inc. Mrs. John R. Ball and Lynne of Raleigh visited Mr. and Mrs. Buck Ball while Mr. Ball attended the Social Wel fare Institute at Southern Un iversity in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Alicia Wood, Alice Wood, Connie Ayscue and Judy Wil son went to Cherokee, Mur phy, Rock City and Chatta nooga, Tennessee last week. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Blount were at Nags Head during the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Pearce visited the Oglesby family on Bogue Sound dur ing the weekend. Masonic Notice Douglas F. Hart, Sr. was honored with a birthday party Monday by her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Green, Sr., and her grandaughter, Mrs. H. H. Keddick all of Youngsville. The party was held at the Colonial Guest House in Wake Forest. Guests included all patients in the resi home Patients able to be up went to the dining room whore a birthday table was covered with ? white cut work cloth complimented with a predominately white arrangement of mums and carnations. A decorated birth day cake, frosted in pink and w|iite, held lighted candles. Homemade ice cream was ser ved with cake to guests at the table as well as to those pa tients in their room who were unable to get out. It was obviously a festive occasion for all. A native of Franklin Coun ty and longtime member of he Flat Rock Baptist Church, Mrs. Hart had many friends and relatives to visit with her during the day and extend birthday greetings.
