Mullen, son of Mrs. Doris P. Mullen of Route 4, Louisburg, N. C., is taking part in a Tactical Air Com mand exercise to test the command's ability to operate in any area of the world and be completely self-support ing. Airman Mullen is an elec tronic equipment repairman in the 4th Tactical Fighter Wing, at Seymour Johnson AFB, N. C. The wing's tacti cal jet fighter aircraft will operate from North Field. S. C. during the two-week exer cise. The operation, involving more than 1,700 Air Force personnel, will mark the first time aircraft will be operating from completely prepack aged, expandible maintenance and hangar facilities. Indepen dent power and water distri bution systems and other newly developed mobility equipment will also be utiliz ed. Facilities and equipment, especially designed for the exercise, will be flown in by C-130 Hercules combat cargo aircraft and set up by civil engineers. The airman, a graduate of Bunn (N.C.) C? was assigned Sep tember 19 to the 4th Infantry Division near Pleiku, Viet nam, as a rifleman. THOMAS H. STALLINGS KNOXVILLE, Tenn. ? Technical Sergeant Thomas H. Stallings. son of Mr. and Mrs. F. E. Stallings, Rt. 2, Zebulon, N. C., has graduated from the Air National Guard Noncommissioned Officer Academy at McGhee Tyson Airport, Tenn. Sergeant Stallings, who was trained in military man agement and supervision, is a supply inventory supervisor. He is being assigned to Moody AFB, Ga., with the 3550th Supply Squadron, a unit of the Air Training Com mand. The sergeant, a graduate of Bunn (N.C.) High School, has completed a tour of duty in Vietnam. His wife, Marjorie, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Kelly, Bunn, N. C. They shall be washed and meet the requirements of U.S. No. 1 grade, or better, as defined in "United States Standards for Grades of Sweet Potatoes", effective July 1, 1963. except that the tolerance allowed for sweet potatoes affected by soft rot or wet breakdown, or 10 per cent total defects, except that at least one defective and one off-size specimen may be per mitted in any package. The sweet potatoes shall be treated at time of packing with a fungicidal dip or spray suitable for the product in accordance with the manufac turers recommendations, and must be inspected by the Federal-State Inspection Ser vice. The price will be $2.75 per bushel, loaded on trucks at the option of U.S.D.A. at the point of purchase, for sweet potatoes purchased and ac cepted under the program. Purchases will be limited to growers, cooperative associa tions of growers,, or growers' authorized agents. Further details of the pro gram may be obtained from the county ASCS office. Growers desiring to sell sweet potatoes under this program should submit their offers to the county ASCS office not later than 3 P.M., Friday, October 31, 1969. PTA Supper And Halloween Carnival Youngsville - Youngsville School PTA President Mrs. J. R. Sanders announces that the annual PTA Supper and Halloween Omival will be held Thursday evening, Octo ber thirtieth.
