Vast sums have been expended by the Government for many years to improve and better navigable streams, and many that are not navigable, but as yet very little has been done towards the idea of Public Roads which are of more importance that many of the streams, for which appropriations are made and we trust the time is not far distant when they will receive the attention of the Government in the way of liberal assistance. The writer w as pleased with the opiHrtunity to attend the entertainment given by Rev. J. O. Fulbright. m the new Bap tist church at Collettsville last Friday night Notwithstanding the threatening weather a good crowd attended, and I was again impressed with the thought that Hssibly we learn ipnte as much in the course of life, through the use of the eye as the ear. At any rate the audience of two i i i iiunureu or more persons were well entertained for more than two hours with scenes in the life of Christ, and the Holy Land. A thing that the best preacher could hardly have done in a ser mon, though Mr. Fulbright's lecture interspersed the occasion with descriptions, and his per sonal observations during his visit to the Holy Land. .1.
