The scars of sin are burnt deeply into the soul, and will always remain to pain and humble. The contrast between Salisbury, Mn., March 9, 1873. Oc the 7th inst., at five o'clock, P. M., a most horrible murder wa3 committed about five miles from this place, the par ticalars of which display an amount of i cool premeditation and savage atrocity quite shocking to contemplate. Mary Amelia Shockley, a beautiful girl of 15 years, just blooming into lovely woman hood, was shot through the heart by George W. Hall, a youth of 19 years, at the hour above mentioned, the girl dying slmosi instan ly.
