In ancient limes itwas the custoni of the Italian husbandme'n to com memorate Ihe ingathering of their harvest by a I grand festival, which y-4ient prosperity ol rtftcrests of the country ihey called thie Saturnalia. At those feasts the distinctions of rank disap peared or were reversed. The session of the Pennsylvania Legislature having just ended, it was thought proper, by Senators and Members servants of the people to publicly lejoice over the- ingalher ing oT their harvest, anij for this pur pose a "Grand Saturnalia" was held at the City Base Ball Grounds. 1 . We cannot afford t allow an irresponsible jand corrupt County Board to rule ouir affairs, as we had to submit to once before. The -question has been asked whether to con tinue the present Board or put out a new one entire. The present Board has been faithful and fully competent, and if they wish to be renominated, or will consent, we believe the whole old Board can be nominated and elected. Forney and General Cameron having dined together, a few evenings ago, at Speaker Blaine's, and coming amicably together for the first time during their twenty years' quarrel, it is questionable whether tho Senuto rial question was arranged. ' Col. -Forney is a large stockholder in tbe Texas and Pacific Kailroad Company, of which he and Col. Scott are directors, the hitter being a'so President. Tbis railroad tie, .added to that of a life-ling personal attach ment of the warmest character, com mils Col. Scott to the support of Col.
