Devotional
From Mrs. W.T. Hyatt
I there ever was a time
for the Christian and sinner
alike, to become “stirred
up,’ it’s now.
I know, personally, that I
need to be stirred up.
Pressures, illness, stress,
domestic problems,
finances have left us
almost ‘lifeless”. Satan
sure enjoys this. Those of
us who have been given
certain gifts, and we all
have been given a certain
gift, and personal way, to
show God's love, need to
be stirred up.
h II Timothy 1: vs. 6,
Paul says to Timothy,
“wherefore I put thee in
rememberance, that thou
stir up the gift of God
which is in thee by the
putting on of my hands." I
believe that Paul ordained
Timothy to preach. So you
see, the gift is there, it
just needs “stirring up”.
Next, we need our mem
ories stirred up, as found
in n Peter 1-13. Peter says S'
in verses 12, 13:^
“Wherefore I will not be^j;
negligent, to piit you^
always in remeinherence of<*'
these things, though yew
know them and be es-J®
tablished in the presents'
truth, yea, I think it meet, S
as long as I am in this •»
tabernacle tor body), to stir
you up by putting you in
rememberance.” He says
“I know you know all these '
things and are established,J
but as long as I live, I feel ;‘
I need to stir you up, to
always remember them.”
There was a time, in "
Exodus 35:21 and 26, that’*;
the children of Israel were' *'
willingly stirred up to woric '
for God. With heart stirring'
offerings unto God. iv'»
Isaiah 64:7, we find a***
“repentance stirring.” A re
turn from a backslidden' '
condition. They they did.*;'
Does your life need a >
stirring up? God will stir,
us, if we will only’ask. »'
