Fair Play and Equal Rights to all! 1 1 "We, as interested parties, propose to present a few facts to thjs good people of Franklin, which we have no doubt. Will be INTERESTING.' To begin wjth, we would state that we have on hand a large stock ot goois, which we are very anxious to selL; preparatory to rur 'getting new SpriDg goods. We are willing to sell at reduced prices, but must posi tively veto the N'obthern Price 6Ys TEii treight added, for the simple rea son that it would not pAy u?, to do so. It we are right, we think that it is coji" mpnly tbe practice, for merchants to sell good3 at a profit. (Perhaps the so called , Leading Houses do not,) but our experience, is that the expenses of car rying on a business, (outside of the freights that are m themselves a re spectable business) cannot be met with, unless we make a Profit oh bur goods; and to say that we work for the bent fit of the public, would hardly be, believed by the most creelulous. There fore we say that it is impossible for us to sell our goods at Northern prices, freight added. But we do say that we can and will sell a,t prices that will sat isfy the closest buyer. Call and see the Bargains we offer. ' j Calishers Brick Store. Ignorance is Bliss We contes3 our ignorance, in a 'good many things; especially do ;we confess that we can not see how Leading houses can sell goods at Northern, Prices, freight added; For with Hie advan tage3 of cash in hand, we buy a good many goods that enables us to cfier bar gains to our customers; but, with all this, we still insist, that we cannot find it a paying business to stli at Northern prices. We are always thankful ior informa tion, and would be under many obliga tions if the Leading Houses jwould ac quaint us with the MODUS OPERANDI, of selling goodd at Northern prices We have no doubt the information ffould be highly appreciated! by our , Brother Merchants, as well as our selves. For the next 30 days we thall offer our stock at Reduced prices. Calishers Brick Store. Facts and Figures Speak. --' We do not claim to have the Lai ge-t Stck in town. But fiom the taxes paid in the last twelve months, our receipts show that we have paid as much again tax on our purchases as any house in Louisburg, (Leading : Houses not excepted) For the next 30 elays ouy your goods at Calisher?
