A Visit From The Oupiiaks.- On Thursday night --the 25th Inst., Mr. J. II. Mills the Supciiutcndn nt of the Orphan. Asylum, visited our place, and brought with him 12 little Orphans, 7 girls and 5 boys. The 3ethoui.rt Church was tendered him for the Con cert. The Church was. filled. It was a truly impressive scene and ot,e caleu- latod toucL the heart of tllc most n dinerent, to hear the songs of thosj children, North Carolinians you should feel proud of the Oxford Orphan Asy lum, it is doing a great and useful work, Mr Mills, the superintendant is exactly in the right place, others may do as well, but noue can do better, none can man age the institution better than it has been managed by him. God bless the Orphan Asylum. The citizens made up a purse of about $130 for the Asylum, besides distributions about $20 among the children. j 1 he Baleigh Nttcs in speaking of Louisburg, and-its improvements says: Louisburg-on-the-Tar, s the county seat, shows evident signs'of prosperity and from the marked improvements that could be seen on evciy side since our last visit, it is anything but a finish ed town. Mr. P. J. Brown, Sr., has recently erected a large double j brick store uorth of public squire. jB. P. Cliftou has remodeled and enlarged his two store south of the square, three new stores h ve been opened on Main street and all tktt old merchants have argcly increased ibeir business and general trade. The greatest improvement that has been made in the town, and one that a iraveljug man is mostly interested in, is its tiotei accommodations. lhis Eagle Hotel, (formerly Pents.) The rooms are clean, neat and comfortable, fare unexceptjonaUy good, and well prepared, and the general ac commodations equal to any hotel in the State. Travelers to Louisburg should not fad to ask for the Kagle Hotel.
