TiOuisburg the County Seat of Franklin, ' is situated on' Tar River 31 miles North" 'from Kaleigh, the Capitol of the State, and 10 miles from Erankliuton,? the nearest point taithclt;& G. It. Road. Louisburg was laid olf in the year 1789, by Mr Green Hill, and by reference to a diagram of the town, wc see that great care was taken in making the squars and streets regular and straight. Main street runs alaiost North and South, and, very nearly through the centre of the townt aud four other streets ruji parallel with it. Nah street on vhich most of the business ;houWs are situated, runs East and West, with six others runing parallel. - There are fifteen stores," one Drug Store, three Physi cians, three Lawyers, and -n6 loaf ers."
