Stateville, N.: C W. T. Potter a white man, hailing from Kentucky was last week sent to the chain gang on charge of drunkenness. On Friday , afternoon he was taken violently ill and died Friday night. Sortie. of our citizens, belieying that Potter came to his death as a re sult of the hard work required of him to which he was unaccustomed, demanded a coroner's jury to pass upon the case. After hearing several witnesses' the jury render ed the following verdict: "The -deceased came to his death from hemorrhage, of the brain brought on by dissipation and violent ex ercise in the hot sun." Hill has just completed a model of an air ship or living ma chine, on which he has been work ing on which he has been working for more than two months. Mr. Hill and others interested with him in the investigation hope to organize a stock company at once. A large machine will then be built for sailing purposes. Mr.' Hill pro poses to complete it and have it in j running order in time for the pro posed contest at the St. Louis Ex position.
