In a few years after this, he began to build a white settlement, known as 'Sawyer Town' which has now some 600 or 700 inhabitants, and now l he is laying out and building what hej calls 'Broadway' "In the northern part of the town. This promises to be the finest residental section in the town. This property now pays more . tax annually than the property sold for 16 year ago. . - . When Mr. M. N. Sawyer is no more there will still remain three large sections in ;our Kdwn, monuments to his. energy and business ability. - j - V- 1 i , i '"X s. . ..... ? ;': .... a ; .. - ' . ' " ' . , v, .
