Beasiley died at St Vincent's hospital at noon last Saturday, where he had been tinder treatment since Tuesday week, for injuries received while at work on a gasoline boat at Poplar Branch, N. C. He was carried to Norfolk tbe day on which the accident oc cured and placed in the hospital . The accident which, resulted in his death was having his toes torn hisrfromightfoot nearly severed from the ankle.' A double amputation was per formed by his physician, Dr. R. L. Payne, in order, if possible, to save his life, bit despite every ef fort he passed away at the hour name. The deceased was a native of Garrituck county, N. G. where ha lived until about five years ago, when he moved with his family to Norfolk where he had since resided. Mr. Beasley was a prominent citizen of his county taking a liv ely interest in its political affairs. toe state senate, and was a mem ber of that body when his little son Kenneth, so mysteriously dis. appeared from the home. The readers of the Tar Heel are familar with these incidents, with the incidents of the futile search es for the missing boy, and the final abondement of all hopes of ever recovering the child, and then the trial of Joshua Harrison upon tbe charge of Kidnapping the child and the final end of the tragedy which resulted in the suicide of Mr. Harrison. Mr. Beasley was a prominent Mason and was worshipful master of Currituck Lodge lib. 423, A, F. and A. M. He was also a mem ber of Poplar Branch Lodge No. U6, I. O. O. F., and Norfolk Lodge No. 24, Jr. O. TJ. A. M. He is survived by a widow and one son, age 24 years and a daughter, 16 years old. He was a man of exemplary life and had many friends here in North Carolina, Who will learn with sorrow of his death The funeral was held from his late residence 913 East Brown ave. at h o'clock Sunday afternoon, and was conducted by Rev.
