The union meeting of the Rob eson Baptist Association was held at Spring Dill hnrch beginning on Friday and lasting three days. This meeting as great, from every standpoint. First of a1! it was a spiritual meeting, largely attended, and harmonious from start to nmsn. The music was led by the pastor, Ret. R. A. Hedgpeth, who had a trained choir for this occasion.- Miss Leona Prevatte, music . teacher of this place, presided at the or gan and to Mr. Hedgpeth and Miss Prevatte much credit is due for the fine music which was so much enjoyed by ?H who were fortunate enough to be present Barnesville is one of the most prosperous sections of the grand old county of Robeson, where people live up to the motto o North Carolina, 'Esse quam Vi deri." Notwithstanding the large crowds present there was enough good rations on the grounds to have fed twice the number. Fol lowing is the programmer Pri day, 11 a- m., sermon by Rev. J J. Flemmin?. Col. N. M. Jones, of the North Carolina Military Academy, was present on Sunday and delivered an address on christian educa tion at 5 p. m-, which was highly spoken of by all who heard it. Robeson county is fortunate in having Col. Jones as an adopted son. He is an educator whose influence for good will be felt all over trie country, rue people should rally to the support of this school, which is located at Red Springs. The only sad thing in connec tion with this Union meeting was the absence of Rev. C. H. Dur ham, who was kept at home by injuries sustained by an accident when he was violently thrown from a buggy in a runaway last week. Everybody was glad to hear that be was better and hope for his speedy recovery. Barnesville, N. C, Oct. 3rd. A. M. McLEAN DIES SUDDENLY. WOOTEN MeLEAN. PROFESSIONAL CARDS. E. W. Bis Dead Body Found In flls Shop Tuesday -Bad Negro Cats ap Mneh Around Mazton. Correspondence of Tbe RobttonUa. ivir. Aioenu8 Aicuean was found dead in the back part of his undertaking shop Tuesday morning'about 9 o'clock. He was last seen alive either Sunday night or Monday morning. He was evidently eating a meal when he feU over dead, as there was part of a cup of coffee an 1 a plate on a box where he was lying, Tnere was a hole in one side of his head which caused a report to be circulated that he had been murdered. This was a natural supposition, as it certainly had the appearance of being a buMet hole. Coroner Rancke, of Lum berton, was notified and he came up. He got a jury together and after an autopsy was held they rendered a verdict that deceased came to his death from natural causes. Dr. L. R. Kirkpatrick cut into the head and probed for the supposed bullet, and Band ol Two Most Prominent j Union ol Heail ol Maxtoa's Members.
