School will close here next Friday and the boarding students will spend Christmas at their respective homes. Mr. Owen Cox died at the home of his nephew, Mr. Will Cox, early Wednesday morning. Mr. Cox had been suffering with cancer for over a year. His re mains were laid to rest at Sandy Level, known as the Ward grav yard, Thursday. Mr. J. M. Frink's family'will move this wTeek to Bladenboro. Our best wishes go with them to their new home. Mr. W. O. Britt went to Wil mington last Tuesday on busi ness. Proctorville is a fine little town, but the Proctorville boys have to come to Orrum to see the girls. On last Saturday night there were several of her boys over here to see the girls. This is not appreciated by the Orrum boys. Mr. Spurger.n Small has opened a first-class barber shop in the rear of Mr. J. R. Lawson's store.
