THE SEMI-WEEKLY ROBESONIAN THE ROBfcSONIAN PUBLISHED MONDAYS AND THURSDAYS PUBLISHING CO. - President. aOBESOMAN J. A. SHARPE. SUBSCRIPTION RATES: The Year SI-56 Six Months .... .75 Three Months - - - - -40 THURSDAY, APRIL 7, 1510 Whether Lumberton gets that postoffice building or not, it seems practically assured that the post office wiil enter the second class in the near future. For the quar ter ending December 31 last the receipts were $2,290.23 more than sufficient, it will be observ ed, if the same average wee maintained for a year, to bring the receipts over $8,000, the amount necessary for changing from third to second class. The receipts for the quarter ending March 31 were $2,310, a slight increase over the preceding quar ter. The receipts for March were about $10 more than the re ceipts for December, which month was a record-breaker up to that time. The advance has been steady, and it bids fair to be maintained. Some time ago the Postoffice Department at Washington wrote to the office here to know what was the rea son of the increase, seeming to think that the desire to enter the second class had resulted in hus tling for business. The only rea son for the increase is increase in business. And the increase has been steady. Watch Lum berton grow and enter the sec ond class in a walk. It was thought that ex-President Roosevelt would have an audience with the Pope at Rome Tuesday, but in granting the au dience the Pope said he hoped nothing would occur to prevent it like the incident which made it impossible for him to receive ex-Vice President Fairbanks while in Rome Fairkanks ad dressed the Methodists, who ap pear to be the Pope's high par ticular and pet aversion which let Col. Roosevelt out; for he re fused to accept an audience granted upon any conditions as to his actions. Which was of course the only thing for a self respecting American to do. TheRaleighNews andObserver issued yesterday a 68-page illus trated supplement devoted to the story of the development of Robe son county. It is a most credit able piece of work. Laboring now under the necessity of set ting aside for next issue almost enough matter to fill a supple ment the size of this'one matter that should appear in this issue further mention at this time is impossible. name and address must be sealed in an envelope and accompany the story. 4.
