Oonaayoudaoca of Tlx BnfcaaanUn , Antioch. Au. 7. Politics in Hake, following the examnleof our two mother counties, seems to be waxing warm, and, strange to say, Robeson s new-county agitation is playing its part here. It seems to be an open secret that a good many oi our neighbors on tne border lice wish to come into Hoke. Even Red Springs. Madam Rumor says, II 11 ll. M A wouia use to join me lorces ox Hoke. Many Hokeites are anx ious and willing to welcome their former countymen into the new county, while some are opposed to any more territory; and so it seems that the legislative can didates especially will have to squarely declare! themselves be fore the people will pledge them their support. This county will have a legalized primary on August 24, when each candidate will know bis doom. Rev. Chas. E. Hodgin and wife, also two sons, Charles and Nelson, of Greensboro, have been spending several' days at An tioch, guests of Mr. J. A. Hodgin and other relatives. Mr. Hod gin preached for the Antioch congregation here on last Sab bath. Everybody is always glad to hear "Charles" Hodgin, as he is still known here. Mr. Hod gin has been for several , years the popular pastor of West Min ister Presbyterian church, Greensboro. Messrs. Henry Elliot of Linden and Albert McCormick of Mc Donalds and Misses Hallie Currie and Pearl Council of Red Springs have been most pleasant guests of Mr. Ernest McPhaul and sis ter, Miss Jessie, for several days. Many receptions have been given by various ones at Antioch in honor of the visitors. Broad Ridge Breezes. Oorrenxmdenca of Tba Robeaonian. Lumberton. R. F. D. 4.
