Eliam tist Baptizing A series of meetings which had been going on for a week at Mt. ; Eliam Baptist church, near Orrum, ' closed yesterday afternoon. The ? reaching was done by Rev. E A. ' aul of Davis, this State, and large; crowds attended the meetingr. There were it additions to the church 13 by baptism and three restored. The baptizing took place at Meadow landing, . on Lumber river, near the church, yesterday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock and a service held on the river bank just after the baptizing closed the meeting. Elicirn Baptist Sunday school Insti tute will be held at the Broad Ridge Baptist church, near Orrum, Satur day of this week. It will be an all- day affair and no doubt will be at-i tended by many people. Organized workers in virtually ev ery industry in Greater New York were formally called upon late today to cease work at 8 a. m. Wednes day morning in sympathy with the striking traction employes. Unioj leaders assert approximately 600, 000 men and women are involved. The call was embodied in resolu tions adopted at a conference of la bor leaders representing the federat ed bodies in all the boroughs of the city, as well as many national and international unions. Of the eighty unions in the city, represented, it was said some already had voted in favor of a strike. The call, it was said, would be issued not only to or ganized workers in New York, but also to those in West Chester county, m which the cities of Yonkers, New Rochelle and Mount Vernon are sit uated, and would extend throughout a wide range of industries.
