William Mallette, a negro, tried to
board President Wilson's private
car at Rareigh earTy Tuesday morn-

passed through from Columbia, S.
C., and was arrested by secret ser
vice men. He was sentenced to
thirty days on the county roads in
the Raleigh municipal court on a
chsrge of drunkenness and disor
derly conduct. Mallette noted an ap
peal and was released under $200

The six young Raleigh boys who
attempted to have some "fun" by
spanking a freshman at the A. and
M. College the other night witn a
dipper, and who otherwise raisea a
"roueh house", were fined in the
Raleigh police court Tuesday. Joe
Chamberlain, the alleged leader, was
fined 520 and costs, and other mem
bars of the band Maury Martin,
Konmith Parker, Kenneth Smith, Geo.
Monk and Drcwy Sales were fined
$10 and costs each.
