LOCAL MARKET Biggs, the soul of God's children from the knowledge of His salvation. The Children of God have crosses to bear. When a man is called to God he is not called to . pleasant fields to sit down and have no troubles. Even the first Christians were persecuted, However, in this good land Chris tians are not called upon to suffer as did the Christians of old. Those who wait for a Christian life of ease will wait forever. If a man who pro fesses to be a Christian has never faced a cross, he may doubt if he has ever found a Saviour. Still, the happiest people are not those who wear the crowns of earth. Neither is it the people who live in the man sions of earth, but rather those who have accepted Christ, no matter how humble their surroundings may be, True joy is not dependent upon out- Ward circumstances, but m the knowl -dff of God's salvation. There is that in the religion of Jesus Christ .that will make a roan wipe away the tears of ' sorrow 'and shout with joy. I he joy of salvation outlives the sor row that comes to a Christian. In presenting thought No. 2. Dr. Turner said that while one may lose the joy of salvation, he never loses salvation once he gets it. Some claim they have lost it, but these have nev erhad it. If a man once has God's salvation he has it forever. He may let the joy of hi ssalvation slip away from him, but he does not lose the salvation. When a man begins to grow careless and does not attend church, the joy of salvation departs. .When a man loses interest in God's Vork, he then drifts back into sin. In ' presenting the last of the three thoughts, the preacher said when a .Christian loses the joy of his salva tion it is not lost forever. In or der, however, to have it restored one must get rid of all sin. You must repent and ask God's forgiveness for your sins. David did this and his joy was restored. David learned al so that he could not teach transgres sors the way of God until his own heart was right with God. It is the same today. Before you can lead men to Christ your life 'must be free from There is but One Sure Way To get money earn it; but one sure way to have money save it; but one sure way to , - Save Money by systematic setting aside each week or month a portion of your income and putting it to work in A Reliable Banking institution. Smon Tuesday Evening : For me to live is Christ Phil. 1:21. From this text Dr. Turner preach ed a thought-provoking sermon Tues day evening. The most serious and important question that confronts any mortal, he declared, is, "What are you goine to do with your life?" The answer is determined by what one allows to become the controlling thought of one's life. There is no lifj without a purpose, there is no such thine as a purposeless life.'! Somewhere deep in every life is a thought that controls. As a roan thinketh in his heart, so is he. For a miser to live is money. A woman of Paris who had drunk of every cun of pleasure to the dregs offered $1,000 to any one who would invent some new pleasure. To her to live was pleasure. To Paul, when he stood by and consented to the death of the martyr Stephen, to live was to persecute Jesus Christ and to stanon Him out of the hearts of men, ;but after his vonsercion to him to live was Christ. - Life is so short, life is so uncertain, ; if vou are eroiner to make anything of vour life vou must do it now. rou cannt recall the minute, the hour, the year that has passed. The op portunity that has passed is gone for ever. . - ' -" Your soul is what you make it. A man left his home in the East and went to th West to make money.
