ELECTRIC SERVICE CO., Lawinborg, N C. made it necessary to close the Pas time temporarily, and then they saw how genuinely pleasant it was to pass i -T a: . . i uie time away at tne rasume. While the show has been closed the management has not been idle, as I plans have been perfected for giving stni newer and better pictures, just as good as can be seen anywhere. Mr. H. H. Anderson, proprietor of the Pastime of Lumberton, and Gem of Laurinburg, has secured the Hamlet Opera House, and from now on, with three houses will be in a better posi tion than ever before to give service unsurpassed by any city theatre. The occasonal missouts which have occur red in the past usually happened on account of bad connection at Hamlet, but that trouble will now be eliminat ed as the pictures will start on the Anderson chain at the Hamlet end. Another change which will be ap proved by the patrons 'of the shows will be standardizing the prices and cutting out the pennies. In future the regular prices will be 10 and 20 cents, which will include the war tax. Only an special occasions will there be any deviation from these prices. It is impossible to give satisfactory ser vice at a less price. Where the pub lic has been paying the window tax the management has too manv other taxes to pay to count them, but there I is a special revenue tax, State, coun ty and town tax, and in addition to all that, there is a reel tax which amounts to over $25 per month. In making the regular prices 10 and 20 cents the management assumes aJ the vr r'ous taxes, promises the best service that money will buy and solicits the patronage of all lovers of good clean pictures. Remember, every time you pay y ur way into a theatre of any kind, you are contributing to the sup- Eort of the boys over the sea who ave whipped the Huns to a finish. Wli'le the war is said to be over, our boys will still be in France for at least two years and we must give them the support which they so justly deserve.
