Diomede, grandam Wickham's Alderman Mare,
who produced the distinguished race horse Tuck
ahoe, g. grandam by Clockfiist, g. g. grandam by
Wildair thorough-bred, and from whom have
descended some of the most distinguished race
horses in the country. Mr. Wickham, of Vir
ginia, bred both Richmond and Tuckahoe.

establish his character as a race horse, it is only
sufficient to remind our readers that he twice beat
Ace of Diamonds, w ho beat him once ; that lie al
so twice beat Tychicus, who also beat him once.
He run a fine race at the Central Course last
Spring (of 1S33) beating fine horses, viz. Colum
bus, Whitefoot, Floretla, and distancing Orange
Boy, who afterwards beat easily the famed racers
Medoc and Anvil."
