Premjrt, Grand Tyler Newsipkr Fault -Finders.- Those who are most given to finding fault with this or that newspaper are, nine times out often, guilty tf cheating the proprietor of that paper out of his honest dues. We have been in the newspaper business a good while, and it is riot only our experi ence, but that of all others who havegiven the matter any attention, that it is almost conclusive evidence that a person who makes a habit of denouncing newspa pers either never subscribes or never pays for one when ho- does subscribe. So in, variable is this rule that .it may be set down as almost certain when a fellow h he ad denouncing a paper he has not paid for it. We have known persons to read a pa per four or five years, calling regularly for every issue, never-paying a cent, tnd aU of a sudden order it stopped or refuse to take it from the office, still not paying, but taking every opportunity to denounce the'paper and itseditor or proprietor. Now, we don't want any such people as iliese on our books. VV e know tht our paper costs us all that wo ask for it iujahor and money, and we don't find thai we are under any obligations or owe any of our subscribers a Vote of thaoks for patronizing ns.Jiy'dle- we can n.t hope to please all, we enivo to promote Hiir interest, the best interest of the State and tommuni'y, to interest and ins' met all a "for hs we are able, aini we feel t-i if?,l s v.ce by subscribing .til pHVing-'for otir puper. ()nly this. ;itid nothing more. Onn Cemetkkiks It should be, and doubtless is, highly gratifying to citizens to note the improvement wrought in the I wo eemeteies of this place within the but twelve months. Contrasted with their former ueglecieil coudiiiou, these ''cities of the dead" now wear rather an inviting aspect. The dread, d grave looks not so dismal, and the strained, the wearied aud the heavy ladeued, may feel adsolute relief iu contemplating a dwelling there at no distaut day. And lhose visiting these places out of respect to the loved ones whose relics lie buried in them, are no lger grieved atbeholdiitg a wi!dernes of wjeds and brush-wood obscuring the graves and the inscriptions which mark them Much has been done to prevent the gloom and sadncssme felt on visiting them in past years. Aud although no system or order, was formerly observed in the burials, and a inconsequence some difficulty must be, -experienced in laying out walks, yet even in this respect much Ctn still be done to make these places on venient and attractive; and it Is hoped our Town authorities, to whom is due the credit foradl that has been done, will not remit their attention to this subject ; but will, as occasion may require, issue their orders and see that they are obeyed. In a recent visit to Oak Grove Ceine tary (formerly English Grave Yard we observed several note-worthy aud orna mental additions at private expense. Mr-. Wm. MtJBPHY has had a very handsome iron picket enclosure thrown around . the spot where repose members of her family. The Hon Philo White, now residing at Whitestown, N. has done the same for 'the dead of his own and his wife's family. These works are of recent date. They are not at all ostentatious, but de signed merely tomark the boundaries eT the family plat, are serviceable to lhat ex tent alone to those who erected them, wbije their simple neatness is a liberal contribution to I be attractiveness of the Cemetary. We have ofterrbeartl it suggested that the Town authorities might improve on the present sexton, who, for a man giving his wh'-le time to the business of keeping the 'e neteries in order, is. bv soiee- gatded as slow.
