Tbe Jury returned a verdict of guilty, and fixed tbe term of bis imprisonment in n State Penitentiary at thirteen years. At a late meeting of the Board of Com missioners of the city of Raleigh an ordi nance was adopted which pi events tbe "storage of guano, or other article of man ure, offensive to tbe smell or detrimental to the public health," in tbe city limits, by any Railroad company or other public carriSf.r-itofcA payer. We have often wondered why corpora - loius allowed the miserable, stinking, so called fertilizers, to be deposited within the corporate limits of any town. Tbe large majority of these so -called fertilizers Is com posed of offensive, health-destroying material and dealers should not be per mitted to deposit them in the corporate limits. And as fertilisers they are for tbe most part worthless. Speed the Wheel.
