Extracts of letters receiv ed from rqsidehff mining eugiuiueer at the London ofiice of tho company: pre bins aro going up rapidly j most likely the main framework will be got through before the end of this week. Nearly kill the machinery has been carried out, Ex cept the stone breaker, and that willtbe taken m hand next week. It is a very heavy casting, more so than any we make in Englaud, aud will test our light brid ges on tho road severely. Both drifts! in Gallimore continue to be driven in same qnalUy f oro without any apparent change ia nature of stone. I have decided as soon as the repairing is completed! in Provost, which will take until end ! of week, to continue sinking it, and rcaich. thereby zone below Briol's old workings; this will be a matter of twenty to thirty feet. Yesterday broke into hard qnai't zite dyke in Briol's open-cast drift. This is first point we have ascertained. Now Gallimore aud Provost stand lifty feet further back or more, and how far its thickness is beyouud these pits we shall find out by exploring; bntsould the dyke not extend beyond these points its breadth would bc considerable, and if we can satisfy ourselves that the entire mass, or a fairportion of it, -is auriferious to the degree required for successful manipula tion, and, s far, we have every reason to be satisfied, then we may rest perfectly satisfied, with what the future will bring us. Breaking iuto this dyke, I had the pestle and motar going all day, and if; I can not report the quality as rich I can honestly isay it pans fair, ami will make a good stamp work, but it 13 too early to speak of the quality. In another place? I am opening up a ledge at surface, thnt pans remarkably well. All this goes to accumulate good stamping ore. We have many such places, where ledges cross up to surface, containing good ore. Our great point is, however, to run through the entire mass witJi the tunnel. at a reas onable depth from surface. After years of patient aud quiet inves tigation and experimenting, Mr. Charles Brush, the electrician, has completed a new invention, which he considers to bo au ample rcwa rd for his life study and work. He has succeeded iu perfecting a method of storing electricity. Ho uses for his storage reservoirs of metal plates, so arranged that they are capable of re ceiving a large charge of . cltrtricity and cf holding it for an indefinite time. The storage reservoirs vary in size, and, may be transported from place to place, and used as desired. They may be put to any use of which electricity is possible. They can bo taken about iu wagons by day, and left at the houses of citizens, like o mueh ice or kerosene, and used at night. 'Each citizen may then run his owu electric lights as he p'.eases. The plates can be put on street cars counetrt-i ed with tho axles, aud made to run the cars without horses. Steam cars may be, ultimately run in the same way.
