His face was snuggled for an instant on her carotid and her epigastmm was visibly depressed. Now. it is different with Anderson. She is long and thin. It is said on good authority that just before the outbreak of cholera in Toulon the swallows suddenly disap peared from the locality. An officer m the nengal tavalry said in reterence to this that during a cholera epidemic in Itidia he had noticed that, though many of the dead remained unburied, all of the carrion-eating birds had disappeared. It is reported from Paris that experi ments made in the hospitals show that sulphide of carbon is the best agent to restore the normal action of the bowels in case of cholera. It has restored to consciousness in thirty seconds hysteri cal patients, who previous to its ad ministration were msensioie to even the pricking of needles.
