The decision of the United States Sti preuie Court on the right of exemption from state --taxation of commercial trav elers would affect the question of such taxation in North Carolina if it were as it is generally reported in the papers. We apprehend that it is not as it is so reported, however. We apprehend that the recent decision is the same as that made as long ago as 1871 or 1872, which was to the effect that a state has no right to lay discriminating tax on drummers that is to say, a tax on some to the exclusion of others, (those from within its own borders for in stance). We suppose any state has still the right to impose a license tax on traveling salesmen seeking to sell gtods by sample, provided it lays such tax on all - alike, no matter whence they may come.
