A father's Advice to his Son. NcTer do anything through strife or nrjr or emulation, or vain glory, .fever do anything in order to excel .ther people, but in order to please 'Jod, anljeai3e it is His wilBhatyou iiould do everything in the best man ner that you can. For if it is once a pleasure to you to excel other people, it will by degree be a pleasure to you to nee other people not so good as your self. Banish therefore every thought f pride and distinction, and accustom yourself to rejoice in all the excellen cies and perfections of your fellow m features, and be as glad to see any of their good actions as your own. For as God is as well pleased with their well-doings as with yours, so you ought to desire that everything that is wise, jtnd holy, and good, may he performed, In as high a manner by other people as by yourself. Let this therefore be your only motive to all good actions, to 'do everything in as perfect a manner as you can, for this only reason, because it is pleasing to God, who writes all your actions in a book When I am dead, my sou, you will be master of all my estate, which will be a great deal more than the necessities of one family require. -Therefore as you ore to be Charitable to the souls of men, and wish them the same happiness with you in heaven, So be charitable to their bodies, and endeavor to make them as happy as you upon earth. As God has created all things for the common good of all men, so let that p;irt of them which is fallen to your share be em ployed, as God would have all employ ed, for the common good of all. Do good, my son, first of all to those that most deserve it, but remember to do good to all. The greatest sinners re ceive daily instances of God's goodness toward them : He nourishes and pre serves them that they may repent and return to Him; do you therefore imitate woo. ana ininx no one too baa to re ceive your relief and kindness, when you see that he wants it William Typnoid, Scarlet and Yellow rever ateaslss, Diptheria, Small-Pos, Cholera, etc. Darbys Phosphatic Fluid will destroy the infection of all fevers and infectious diseases. There is a reeling like a heavy load on the tomacli; sometimes a faint, all -one sensation at the pit of the tomach which food does not satisfy The eyes are sunken, the hands and feet become cold and clammy. After a while a cough sets in, at first dry, but after a few months it is attend ed with a greenish-colored ex pectoration. The patient feels tired all the "while, and sleep does not seem to afford any rest. After a time he becomes nervous, irritable and gloomy, and has evil forebodings. There is a giddiness, a sort of whirl ing sensation in the head when rising up suddenly. The bow els become costive ; the skin is dry and hot at times ; the blood becomes thick and stagnant; the whites of the eyes become tinged with yellow; the urine is scanty and high colored, de positing a sediment after stand ing. There is frequently a spitting up of the food, some times with a sour taste and sometimes with a sweetish taste; this is frequently at tended with palpitation of the heart; the vision becomes im paired, with spots before the eyes; there is a feeling of great prostration and weakness. All of these symptoms are in turn present It is thought that nearly one-third of our popu lation has tliis disease in some of its varied forms. It has been found that phy sician have mistaken the cause of this disease. Some have treated it for a liver complaint, others for kidney disease, etc., etc., but none of these kinds of treatment have been attended with success; for it is really constipation and dyspepsia. It is also found that Shaker Ex tract of Roots, or Mother Sei geVs Curative Syrup, when properly prepared will remove this disease in all its stages. Care must be taken, however, to secure the genuine article. IT WILL SELL BETTER THAN COTTOX. Mr. John C. Hemptinstall, . of Chulafirmee, Clebum Co., Ala, writes: "My wife has been so much benefited by Shaker Extract of Roots or toaigels fcyrup that she says she would rather be without part of her food than without the medicine.
