The most impor tant cases that came up were the one in which five persons were charged with stealing provisions, &c., in the lower part of the county. The Hargrave horse stealing case moved i from Davidson county and the Keen case. In the first case a verdict of guilty was brought in and the sentences were ten, five and three years in the penitentiary, and six months in the chain gang. The little boy was bound out.
