that he was an " infernal liar." Capt
rillman at every meeting abuses the
Charleston News and Courier. Thurs
day, after attacking the paper for some
time he asked the audience to compare
the Kelts and Couriers reports with
the actual proceedings as they oliserved
them, and notice the misrepresentation
by the newspaper. Shirley C. Hugh
sort, a cousin of Gen. il. E. Lee, and a
correspondent of the Sea-sand Courier,
sprang to his feet exclaiming:
"Captain Tillman, if you mean to
say, sir, that I have ever misrepresent
ed y.ou, you are an infernal liar, ami
