A beautiful and artistic wedding
curred in the Methodist church

of Rev. CV G. Vardell, of New Berne, and
Muss Lindxi Lee Jlnmple. The ceremony
was performed at 7:45 o'clockthe bride

chancel beneath an archway of garlands.

THE LAST DAY
Not near so large a crowd was present
to-day, but this was decidedly the best
day of the Fair. This was Alliance day
n.nd Hon. Marion Butler, President of
the State Alliance, was the orator. He
shows himself to be of incalculable talent
and expresses views, which aro very ac
ceptable' to the alliancemen, in strong,
lold language, carrying out the princi
ples of the order and marching with the
banner floating over the heads of his
followers.. His expressions are clear,
concise and forcible and showing him to
be a close student, not only of history
but also one thoroughly acquainted with
passing events in this country.
The amusements to-day were very good.

the height of about three hundred feet the
balloon began to turn sideways on ac

aeronaut cut his parachute loose and he
descended safely to the ground.

and it was evident that the Fair was
ended.
It ha3 been our purpose to publish the
entire list of premiums awarded tbi
week, but owinir to the fact that we have
only received three reports' we will lay
the matter over until next week. In the
meantime we hope that the directors of
those departments which havo not sent
in reports will do so at once. We deem
it necessary to say a word of 'praise to
the worthy officers and directors of each
deiwr-twcnt. Much is due them to the
success which the Fair made. The
county owes them many, thanks, and wc
know that their services will ie appre
ciated ami perhaps at the appointment of
officers next vear they will receive a
slight reward.
The Fair was financially all that was
expected.
