Hamilton, of Montgomery countv. was in town Monday, ana in forms us that he has recently discovered an apparently rich vein of gold-bearing slate ore in Ophir township, near Barne's Creek, Montgomery county. He and h partner, Mr. W. T. Harris, have sunk on it to a depth of 20 feet and they find the vein U from 4 tao feet in width, and that it is rich in gold fll through. It canbeirace1 upon the surface for a dis tance of 7o yards, the ore showing gold all the way.
