Mr. J. A. My rick, superintendent of
the Salidbury Cotton Mills, died late
Satuiday afternoon of typhoid fever, after
an illness of about three weeks. Mr.
Myrick was a Christian gentleman, a
member aud ollicerof Chestnut Mill M.
K. church, aud one who laborel faiih-
fully aud earnestly for its best welfare
and progress. ' He was greatly roved
aud'respected' by the operatives of the
mill over whom he was placed as is evi
denced by the fact that tho entire, com-

parent. He leaves a wife, four children,
n brother and a host of relatives and
