A Greensboro negro of irauy Dames, among them Henry Hill, was arrested early Thursday, the hour being 3 a. in., on the charge of robbing Will Wilkerson, white, of Gold Hill. Wilkerson was found by Officer Wise at 2 o'clock lying on. the railroad at the depot, and Wilker son, when -aroused, explained to the officer that he had been talk ing to a friend late 4n the night and suddenly went to sleep. " He felt for his watch to see the time, and it was gone, and next he. found his purse, containing about $10, was also missing. The victim had no idea who robbed him. Officers Wise and Eagle knew a plan was on foot to rob Tatum's livery stable; arid the negro Hill was implicated. They knew where where he hung out, and lay in 1 wait for him there. Soon after ward Hill approached to enter the house and was pounced upon and searched by the officers, and Mr. Wilkerson's watch was found UDon his person, but not the mo ney. The latter was either hid or in the possession of an accomplice as his share of the booty. The possession of the watch establishes Hill's guilt in the matter, but he made confession before being put in jail. Prominent Colored Couple to Marry. Kev, andMrs. W. H.
