Last Thursday two South Caro linians, by name, E. B. Gregory, of Anderson, and T. H. Culp, of F)rfc Mill, made complaint, to Salisbury policemen that, while riding on a freight train, between Concord and Harrisburg, they were forced to submit to being robbed, by an unknown man claiming to be a breakman, who took the liberty to pake a revolver in'their laces and demand the contents of their nurses. Samuel Lisk, the mail carrier on route ho. a, -going out from Gold Hill, was up before United States Commissioner J. J. Stewart Saturday, charged with the misuse of certain funds placed in his hands by patrons along the route. Mr. Lisk was represented by attorneys Burton Craige and J. L. Rendle- man, and Assistant District At torney A. H. Price, appeared for v - ' A. X. tKe government. The importance of the case was such as to hold Mr. Lik for the nexr, term of the Fed eral court. Mr. Lisk is a wortny young man and his friends regret that hn has gotten into this troub le. The complainants have all been re-irnbursed and Mr. Lisk gave a $250 bond for his appear ance.
