C, A Splendid Suggestion. Evidence'acccmulates that our plan of holding legislative sessions ought to be changed. As it is now, we send a body of men to Raleigh for sixty days more be cause they have "pulls" or we "like" them than because of their fitness and since there is always an enormous amount of unadul tered rot to handle, most of the time is taken up by matters of minor or no importance whatever, and the really big and vital is sues are pushed off to the last. Then there is a rush to get through and errors, sometimes gross errors, are made. There is not time for proper deliberation. Many a bill goes through when not half the members know what is in it. Scoundrels in or out or in and out of the general as sembly always manage to slip through some nefarious scheme that only shows its ugly face too iaie ior action, it seems to us thatit would be much better to hold- sessions every four years and take more time say six months.
