HALL CAPTURED. Officers Get Him In South Carolina and he Goes Back to Raleigh. , "George Hall, alias George Wagner, wanted in rloan coun ty, N. C, to finish serving out a sentence of 15 years, he having l.eeu convicted on the charge of having participated in a lynching in that county, was arrested at his home near Saxon Mills Wed nesday evening by Private John Crocker, of the pclice force, on b warrant eworn out before Magis trate A. H. Kirby by J. H: fit ters. Hall was brought to th city last night and lodged in jail to await the arrival of an offic' from Salisbury. Ho says he is willing-to return without reqnsi tion papers . "After being arrested aid lodged in jail Hall admitted that he was the man wanted in Salis bury. He said that he was con victed in 1906 on the charge of being implicated in tha lynching of three men. Fifteen men were indicted and tried on the same charge, but he was the only man convicted out of the fifteeD men After serving two years and four 1L. V- - J . When he came to Spartanburg ee 'changed his name to George Wagner bmce coming to Spartanburg be has found steady employment in the city, having worked on large number of houses in various parts of the city. He is married and has seven children. J. W. Etters in some way learn ed that Mail was living in Spar tan bug and swore oat a warrant for his arrest. A reward of $25 will be paid by the officials of Ro wan county for Hall. "Spartan burg, S. C, Journal. It will be remembered that Hall escaped from the penitenti. ary some time ago, and there were number of persons in Rowan eonnty who rather hoped that he would steer clear of the officers. While recognizing that Hall was guilty, it was felt - that it w&s hardly fair forhim to be made the scape goat of that lynching case, and in. addition to this it was believed that he had been punished enough. Hall' passed here Friday in custody of an of fleer, who was taking him back to the penitentiary. $100 Reward $100.
