Report Rapid Growth Of Walnut Trees Black walnut seedlings planted by 4-H club members as a new project in the last two years are making rapid growth, according to reports made to R. W. Graeber, extension forester at State College. Mr. Graeber says the trees are about 10 to 12 inches in height when sent to the club member. For the last two years a number of these members have been Lpppinp..accurate records of rate of growth. Where theMjoy used good judgment in selecting places to plant the trees and give them reasonable care and attention, he now has a well developed group of trees. The walnuts begin to bear nuts with in a few years after setting. BIND DOG, STEAL CHICKENS Winston-Salem—Ava Gwynn had some chickens and a dog that barked when people attempted to come near the henhouse. Today there were no chickens but the dog was still there. He was found bound and gagged in the chicken house which obviously was the ob ject of successful thieves. CORRECTION In reporting the trial of Matthew Honeycutt in last week’s issue of The Watchman, it was stated that Honey cutt, who was indicted and convicted of incest, had had illicit relations with more than one of his daughters. This, it develops, was incorrect and The Watchman regrets the error and is glad to make this correction. Honeycutt was convicted in Superior court last week on a charge of being the father of four children by one of his daughters and sentenced to serve not less than 7 or more than 10 years ,in the state prison. There was no •evidence that he had ever had immoral relations with anyone except the one daughter, who was the mother of the four children.
