A second Democratic primary for Rowan county is definitely assured as George Uzzell has filed a written not ice with E. C. Gregory, chairman of the county election board, that he will enter a second primary with J. W. Bean, of Spencer, for the state legislature. Cal L. Miller entitled to a second primary with J. H. Krider and Mrs. T. Edgar Johnson, eligible for a sec ond race with J. F. McKnight, have filed notice that they will not enter a second primary. In this case the nomination goes to the high man. In asking for a second primary, Mr. Uzzell call the attention of the voters to the fact that the county will not be subjected to any addiional expense as a second'primary is made necessary on account of the request of Cameron Morrison. RUSSIA BUILDS HUGE CRUISER London—A new 8,000-ton cruiser has been completed and launched by Soviet Russia. The Krasny-Bessaraibia is the name of this cruiser construct ' ed in the Marty shipyards of Nico laieff. It is the third of a series. The first was the Tschevonia Ukrainia, the sec ond the Krasny Caucase. The fourth and last cruiser of this series is now under construction. According to report from Turkey, Soviet Russia is expected to offer the fourth cruiser upon its completion to Turkey in exchange for Turkish pro duce and commodities. Sweden Installs Anti-Aircraft Guns Karlsborg, Sweden—A battery of hyper-modern anti-aircraft guns, made at Bofors in Sweden, has just been added to the armament of the Karls borg’s fortress in central Sweden. Austin, who operates an auto and woodworking shop on North Main street, has on display in his establish ment a table which he made compos ed of 17,051 pieces of wood. More than 40 varieties of foreign and do mestic woods are represented in the table, which is a masterpiece of work manship and design. Mr. Austin spent 900 hours in the construction of the table and all work was done by him with the simpliest of homemade tools. The table is rectangular and of standard dining room size. Arrange ment of the woods depict a star in the center with light radiating from it. All woods are in their natural colors and no dye or paint was used.
