Thirty-four marriages of film notables have ended this year. There were 37 in all of 1931. Set The Fashion Midway in the wholesale dis ruption of alliances, Ann Harding and Harry Bannister presented a model case to inaugurate the friendly divorce fashion. They weren’t going to continue as hus band and wife, they said in letters on embossed and heavy stationery to the press, because to do so would imperil their love for each other. The sacrifice was further justified because Bannister, as a single man, could better pursue his motion picture career. HOME OF RECLUSE A TREASURE HOUSE Warren, Ohio.—The home of Henry L. Leeper, 86, near here, was a vertiable treasure house. Two deputy sheriffs searched the house recently upon request of relatives, who had obtained a guardian for the aged man. They found $5,800 in old style bills of small denominations; $3, 700 in uncashed' pension checks and $100 in gold coins in tin con tainers, a trunk under a loose floor board and in a cupboard.
