Get Rid of Poisons Produced by Constipation A cleansing laxative—purely vege table Black-Draught—is the first thought of thousands of men and women who have found that by re storing the downward movement of the bowels many disagreeable symp toms of constipation promptly can be relieved. . . Mr. J. P. Mahaffey, bf Clinton, S. C, writes: "I have found that Black-Draught is very effective in the cleansing of the sys tem. When affected by the dull headache, the drowsiness and lassi tude caused by constipation, I take Black-Draught.” f Nel 1, Purely Vegetable Laxative Blue Masque Will Present Original Play "Fog”. This does not refer to the weather of London, but to the subject of one of the plays of the Blue Masque’s next major produc tion, the tentative date of which is April 17. Everett Lynch, the au thor of this one act play, has chosen his cast for his winning manuscript. For quite a long time, the stu dents of Catawba have wondered what impression the professors would give out of the class-rooms and on the stage. This is about to come to pass for together with the original one act play will be pre sented "The Monkey’s Paw”, a play in three scenes. Rehearsals are al ready under way for this presenta tion. Not only the fact that the staid professors of Catawba are taking part in a public performance will make this production worth seeing, but the theme of the play itself is magnetic. Only a sketchy outline of the theme can be presented, for to give a review of the play would spoil the suspense of the attending au dience. In the play, the monkey’s paw is a charm which has a spell cast upon it by a fakir. The fakir presents the charm to an English man, Sergeant Parker, and the pos session of the charm gives him the power to receive three wishes. The play proceeds to disclose the havoc wrought by the selfish desires of this family. The main purpose of the play is disclosed in a speech of Sergeant Parker's—"Nobody can evade fate. What is going to hap pen will happen no matter what one does.” Some members of the faculty taking part in "The Monkey’s Paw” are Prof. Cleaver, Prof. Dearborn, Prof. Lane, Dr. Moyer, and Mrs. Omwake. This cast alone promises an entertaining pre sentation and the contents of the play emphasizes the expectancy. A group of Yancey County far mers recently ordered 98 1-2 tons of limestone.
