U. S. To Dedicate Forest In WNC To Joyce Kilmer Atlanta.—The United States government will honor one of its! poet-soldiers killed in action during the World War by dedicating a 4, 000-acre tract of virgin timber in western North Carolina to Joyce Kilmer, author of "Trees.” Joseph C. Kircher of Atlanta, United States southern regional forecaster, announced the tract will be called the Joyce Kilmer Me morial forest. It will be dedicated June 30. Kilmer died in action in France, July 30, 1918. Paul A. Williams of New York, chairman of the Kilmer memorial committee, is arranging the dedi cation program. The area is accessible to tourists via Federal Highway 129 fftom Knoxville, Tenn., which joins Fed eral Route 19 between Asheville and Atlanta at Topton. Kilmer, native of New Bruns wick, N. J., graduate of Columbia university, and former member of the staff of the New York Times, is buried with 600 comrades in the American cemetery in Gere-en Tarden,ois, France. RUSSIAN TO BE TAUGHT Norman, Okla.—The University of Oklahoma will offer a course in the Russian language starting with the next scholastic year.
